Always one for a challenge, when Nicole from A Well-Rounded Venture contacted me with a proposal to team up with her and three other bloggers and post each of our interpretation of current fashion themes and trends, I jumped at the chance.
So for the next five weeks, me, Nicole, Beth from Pretty in Plus, Elizabeth from The State I Am In and Valerie from More of This & Less of That will – once a week – do a post around our version of the theme. I can’t wait!
This weeks theme is lace – chosen by Nicole. At first I was going to wear my Frock and Frill lace dress – you can see it here and here, oh and here. However, as you all know, I got sick! This meant I have spent the week in my PJs unwashed and unwell. The last thing I wanted to do was dress up in my fancy dress. However on a perusal of my wardrobe, I noticed I have a few items that have lace incorporated into them.
For example I have this tunic:
I got it from eBay at the end of spring this year and it was one of my 12 Wardrobe Diet items in August. I also have this cardigan from Very.co.uk:
I wasn’t sure about it last time but Rebecca from we are large, people has given me some ideas which I will be trying out. I also have a t-shirt that I bought from H&M in my fated trip a few weeks ago. It has funky lace inserts on the shoulders, which turn a rather plain t-shirt into something different. Initially I teamed it with my Joe Browns black jeans to wear out to see a fireworks display tonight…
But as both me and my husband are unwell, we aren’t going (for the first time in five years! Boo hoo! Stupid throat infection!). So I quickly changed into my oh-so-comfy jumpsuit and clog slippers (bought in Holland in February this year). I’m all set for a day in front of the TV and enjoying the use of our newly built coffee table.

I really like the tunic, it looks pretty on you. The lace inserts on the cardigan are cute too
Thank you! I wore the tunic so much during the diet I haven’t worn it since! I might have to rectify that this week… hmmm!
I like the subtle use of lace. And those slippers are awesome!
Hope you and your hubby feel better soon!
Yeah – H&M has these gems from time to time. I keen to see what the others have come up with!
Ooohh cute t-shirt!
And I also really like the tunic in the first picture too
I might have to feature the lace tunic again! Can’t wait to see yours
I didn’t realize how much lace I had either until this challenge!
The tunic is definitely my fave thing! Get well soon xoxo
Thanks Beth – almost there now! Can’t wait to see what we do on the next one!
Hope you feel better soon!
I love the tunic too but can understand why you needed a break! Subtle lace accents are one of my favorite things. On a camisole, the edge of a skirt… tiny details help add depth.
I’m finally feeling better!!
I agree accents of lace are lovely and I couldn’t quite believe how many items of clothing I have with lace in them!! Looking at Beth’s outfit reminded me I have another tunic with a lace insert!
I do so like your lace cardigan and the H&M top with the lace inserts. They are pretty.
Thank you for commenting! I love your blog too! I’m sorry to hear the BD polka dot dress was too big!
I love that tunic! Seriously, love it. (and thanks for the mention too!).
Next time you are going to do a challenge, I want to participate for sure – you always have the coolest challenge ideas!
Of course! With this challenge I was invited but I have a few up my sleeve for the coming weeks such as:
6 items 5 days – 2 tops, 1 cardigan, 2 bottoms, 1 dress.
oooh, I like!
