Blackbird print shirt – New Look Inspire
Jeans – Evans
Loafers – Dorothy Perkins
These pictures have come out looking like they were taking in the 1970s – I’m not sure what I did on LightRoom but I like it!
I’ve been on the hunt for a preppy blazer for a while and this one ticks all the boxes – black, long sleeved, single breasted, one button, tan piping = perfected! As I said in one of my other posts, the Evans boyfriend jeans can be worn casual and smartened up. I felt smart enough to wear this outfit to work today. However, in hindsight, I’m not sure the blue socks work! Whoops!
The blackbird shirt was my first bird print item, bought back in March and you can see it in more detail in this post. I have tended to wear it the same way ever since – as you can see. If you have any suggestions of how else I could wear it, let me know!

Gorgeous outfit! But then I’m almost as bird print/item obsessed as you, so I’m bound to like these posts!
You asked for suggestions how to wear the shirt….if I was going to wear it, I’d wear it with leggings (it looks long enough to do that with it…may be wrong), boots, and then a biker style jacket….basically I’d be picking up on the blackbirds and the associations of black coloured birds and rocking the look up….plenty of fierce looking jewellery….I’d mainly go for a long statement necklace to draw my eye towards the top, keep the earring simple and then perhaps a stack of braclets to pull the look together. But thats just me and my inner rock chick!
You could probably also make it ultra girly by tucking it into a skirt of some kind, adding a tight fitting cardigan, keep the jewellery simple and have that print be more of a cute retro sort of statement. Basically this shirt is super versatile and I’m envious that I dont own it! New Look definitely did some cute shirts in the past season that I sadly missed out on.
Great post as always.
Thanks for the hints. I don’t tend to wear leggings as trousers, but more as something worn under dresses & skirts – like an alternative to tights. I might try tucking into a skirt.
Ooh lovely! Great blazer
Thanks G! Not as nice as your tweed one. I’d LOVE one of those!
You look great! That blazer is quite the find – I love it when the hunt for a specific garment ends in success!
I know! Its so rare that I actually find what I’m looking for. eBay has been good this month!
