This week’s challenge was chosen by me. I originally picked “boho” but having looked at my wardrobe I decided I didn’t have anything that even vaguely resembled boho. So I decided to go back to the drawing board. The husband is job hunting at the moment and I thought about what I would wear if I had a job interview – hence choosing today’s challenge.
I tweeted Nicole, Rebecca, Becky and Gina and gave them the challenge of finding an interview worthy outfit in their wardrobes (go and check out how they did!).
I had an interview in May last year – an internal one and I wore this dress. I haven’t had a “proper” interview since 2008 when I joined my current company and I really can’t remember what I wore, it wasn’t as suit because I never owned one! Anyway…back to today’s outfit. As you can see its very much a bargain outfit – I worked out it must have cost a total of £40, with the loafers costing the most at £16!
I’m very much of the opinion that you should inject your personality into your interview outfit – so I added large polka dot tights and I wore a dark burgundy pleated skirt instead of a traditional black skirt.
Looking back at the pictures, I really like the outfit. I would feel confident wearing this to an interview. I’m also loving the new backdrop – my bedroom blind is an excellent blank canvas!
How about you? What would you wear to an interview?

I love that blazer, it would just go with EVERYTHING!! (sorry over excited!!) x
Haha! The blazer looks blue in pictures but is in fact navy! Which means I can’t wear it with black trousers. Good job I have grey ones!
Brilliant interview outfit, Love it! x
Thank you!
I really love that look on you. Very professional but also funky in a subtle way. Really like that blazer, will have to hunt one down on Ebay. Ebay seems to be filled with good Next plus size bargains…
I really like that outfit, it’s very smart without looking too ‘suity’.
And I’m jealous of that blazer! Might have to look around eBay myself

That blazer is fab! I love the subtle changes that you’ve made to typical interview garb – moving away from black, the pleated skirt, spotty tights and non-black colors really pull everything together nicely. Makes the outfit “you” and adds a spunky twist!
Oh yes, I love the tights! Plus sizes need more options in that department.
That jacket looks great on you! That is the sort of thing I could wear to an interview, I never see bargains like that on ebay!
